Launching THWACK Mission: Total Recall – Into the Database!

Hey THWACK Community,

Welcome to Total Recall: Into The Database.

In this mission, we explore how memory shapes database performance across your IT environment. Inspired by classic and cult sci-fi films, each daily challenge takes on a different memory-related theme, from in-memory architecture to the waits, bottlenecks, and resource issues that can slow critical workloads.

Every question pairs a movie reference with official SolarWinds technical resources, giving you the clues you need to find the answer while building practical knowledge along the way.

Along the way, you'll see how SolarWinds tools like Database Performance Analyzer and SQL Sentry provide the visibility needed to understand workloads, troubleshoot performance problems, and keep your databases running at their best.

We love sci-fi movies, and picking which ones to use for this mission was a tough call. There are too many great memory-bending classics to fit into one THWACK® challenge, so before we begin, we want to give an honorable mention to Johnny Mnemonic and Inception, which ultimately didn't make it into the question set.

Not a fan of these "Catch up's", we should be able to do old questions!!

Had to use one for yesterdays, noticed that they used the work "does" instead of "dies". Doesn't really make sense otherwise!!

Will add another unlock for the Monday late launch. We had some technical issue when launching a multi-week mission. As this mission will have 10 questions over 2 weeks. Answered question 2. I selected the only answer that was in the reading material. A popup came up an told me I had the wrong answer, but it looks like I got credit for it. How do I know if I got it right or not?

For me this mission didn't show up until sometime late in the day yesterday after I had performed my daily check of Thwack. I even checked back later and still did not see it. I do not think I should have to expend an unlock on day one when the mission was not available to me.
