We really need to be able to monitor the Health of the New Cisco UCS C240 M3 Rack Server!
Our environment has shown a need for this monitoring as well. Bump!
While you are waiting for this to be included in a new release, you can do some basic charts that will show status, by setting up come custom pollers.
Were you able to find a way to monitor hardware health of this Cisco rack server. I have a client requesting this as well for the same server.
you can. Just have to setup a custom poller. What specific "health" are you looking for? temperature, drive status?
I am looking to setup monitoring of the power supplies, will be setting up alerting if one of the power supplies fails or is unplugged. I see that I can setup this monitoring through OID's using the universal device poller, just don't have much experience with it and trying to find the right OID .
Hardware: Cisco UCS C240 M3S
any body got success on this effort, the node is in solarwinds, I can smnp walk the mib.
but the details pages show node disk or and resources ??
Yes I was able to get this working. You need to setup monitoring of the CIMC address not the server's address, you can set this up through the CIMC web interface. Configure for full SNMP read access. Once setup and polling the device, import this custom poller template - C-Series Hardware health.UnDP - and assign it to the CIMC node. Was able to poll all the hardware.
