THWACK Monthly Mission – October 2025

The dust has settled from our recent launch, but the mission is only just beginning. This October, we trade the countdown clock for a compass and set out on ExplorAItions, a journey to not only witness the new heights our AI has reached but to chart the unexplored territories it will conquer next.

Together, we will navigate fresh frontiers, test the limits, and map the future of what is possible. Strap in, the adventure starts now. 

OCTOBER MISSION
Use the mission’s resources to complete the tasks and answer the questions for a chance to win! Answer each question correctly during the week and you'll be entered for a chance to win the weekly prize.

Answer all 15 questions correctly over the course of the month and you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize. 150 points are being awarded for each correctly answered question. There are 15 questions, which means you can earn a maximum of 2,250 points for this mission.

For the Mission Shortcut, the form does not have a place to enter the THWACK ID. Did I miss something?

Get 150 points for answering small missions, but when you attend a session, no points or gifts are awarded, even for giving the correct answers......

I had the same experience; I didn’t receive any points for attending a virtual class. I’ve already sent an email about it and am still waiting for the points to be credited. There’s also the 5k Thwack points for registering for the recent SolarWinds Day during the specified period, but I’m not sure if that’s guaranteed.

LOL, thatswhy I am not attending any virtual session, it takes 3-4 hour with no results..

For Day 2 , I had the right answer and got it marked wrong.

Still gots to fill in that little soul-stealing form first!

I typed todays answer in all CAPS since I know in the past doing similar it was required. Just incase, I would recommend it.

I'd be happy to share an update: we've identified a back-end issue affecting the points automation process. I've proactively logged all incomplete entries, which means all users' points are secure. I appreciate your patience as we work to get this resolved and credit your points shortly

You all are really good at letting us know, I just wasn't taking chances, figured I would go based on experience vs trial and error.

Well, speaking from experience, the points for the classes are nice but the reason to attend is if you need specific understanding, or questions answered. I have attended many classes over the years and attended lots of office hours, and it often has positive outcomes. Getting points is just a bonus.

I think I missed the Window for the 5K points. I hope not, but then again, I was also a participant, so hoping they grandfather me in, what says you @Walshy

If you registered before September 21st, you will get the 5k, and if you had registered after that window, you'll get the standard 2.5k points for attending

Evidently copying and pasting the words directly from the report isn't the answer you're looking for. I think when you have multiple words in the documentation and you aren't wanting all of the words, you should specify the number of words you are expecting. Too bad reading all comments before answering didn't address it either.

Yah, not signing up for a ton of spam just to answer some questions, I'll skip this months mission if I have to.

Still having this problem, tried another browser but no change.

on day 2, the exact name is 2 words, not just the one that it indicates. I copied them directly out of the text and pasted them. Though the one word the quiz was looking for was accurately in the answer I posted, it dinged me because I used the full phrase.

That is exactly what I did. That should not be an incorrect answer.

I can see my points under my profile but it's less than what it was last Friday. A few bugettes in the new Community website to iron out.

Unable to see the Mission in full. Can't see daily questions. Browsers do not make a difference.

Looks like they changed format. Go back to the mission rules, click on a 'week' and then follow the step-by-step prompts to fill in the questions.

go to Mission Rules and select the week you want, then answer all the qeustion. Looks like they are now posting all days one week at a time. I just answered week 1 and 2 in one full swing.

Thanks, I think this is either the 3rd or 4th iteration of thwack we've been through. Probably not easy trying to get things to work right. At least it looks like thwack didn't get hit by the AWS outage last night… at least I don't think it did. Half the internet was down last night!

If we already did the mission shortcut from before, do we have to do it again?

I tried, but it didn't let me as it 'remembered' my user had already submitted it.

@Walshy If we did Week 1 last week in full, do we have to take the new Week 1 Quiz that is shown here with the THWACK update?

You are correct. I didn't hit the button, but I had completed the previous Week 1, and it let me do it again.

The form to access the report still doesn't see my business email as valid.

Especially after how badly this launch has gone, for a site that offers such a major IT product, have they not heard of

I redid it just in case. I had all of last week right, although doing it again I selected a wrong answer, but hten changed it and it gave me a green tick again. It would also be advantageous if when you select a radial, it doesn't auto accept that as your answer…

Points don't seem to be updating though, are they now added weekly/monthly rather than daily?

It looks like no points were added for Week 2 answers that were submitted.

I don't seem to be getting points (and can't view my current total). Also, is the store down for everyone? Pretty sad start to a "new" Thwack so far…

I think I'll just bow out of this month's mission and cross my fingers that next month's will be better. This all seems to cumbersome and confusion and the store seems to have vanished.

I could not find or access the store either. This new process seems more cumbersome that what it was before and not very user-friendly.

The mission questions being weekly are just a temporary thing according to the banner on the Week 1 link…

Points should be awarded after the mission closes, as stated in the announcement. Also, if you're curious as to what points you have, if you click on your user icon in the upper right hand corner and then click your user name to open your profile, your current point balance will be displayed on that page. I know a lot of you probably know this, but for those that are posting that they can't see their balance, this is how.

I noted 1 thing…. last week I answered all the questions for week 1 and week 2, but have the opportunity to do them all over again!!! I have faith, love all my peeps! @jeremymayfield you Rock Star! Loved your presentation on SW Day! I obviously came up with a lame topic, after the submission dialogue, they never contacted me again… lmao!

I also found I could do the missions over again, which was strange, but, if they want to give me Double points I'll take them. lmao. @zennifer there are no lame topics, only lame people pretending they have the right to judge our Brillant topics. (No offense to any of the SolarWinds personnel as they do an outstanding job but I gotts stick up for my Thwacksters…)

Thanks so much. I am working on making your points totals more visible as well. please give it some time and we will have the community and mission back up and running at full capacity. We want to keep all this great energy.

I am on the new site daily but my guess is each time you click an email button "Check it out" it creates a new tab thus session? Maybe?
