in the service request we need to enable the approver to set a delegate when he is out of office
Howdy @Madel!
This is possible today.
Any user can click on their initials/picture in the top right, selecting their profile. In the options, select My Account. Once in the My Account page, click on the Setting tab at the top and scroll down. You'll see Out of Office options at the bottom!
Am i correct in thinking this is for technicians? what about requesters?i.e. we have tickets that go through approval, the approval settings are set to go to their departmental manager however some managers want to delete the approval permissions to other members of the team such as a team leader or supervisor, is this possible?
Howdy @JDobbsy1987,
Requesters may also set up Out of Office(OOO) settings. They follow the same process as technicians would, just going to "My Account" and then the "Settings" tab.
Another neet trick you can use, is if you'd like to enable OOO settings for someone else, Administrators can use the "User Impersonation" features and adjust those settings for someone else. (don't worry, the audit log captures changes made while you're impersonating someone)
Hi,What if they are not OoO though, i'm not referring to when someone is away from the office but if a manager of 50 people doesn't want to have to deal with approvals, they may wish to delegate the approval to 1 or several of their team leaders or supervisors. So essentially, they are in the office but dont want to deal with the approvals.
The reason they get it is becuase they are set as the Reporting Manager in Active Directory which is needed for other integrations.
