We forward Events as traps to Netcool's trapd probe and then into Remedy via the Netcool-Remedy Gateway.

Should be similar with BMC Event Manager to Remedy.

Modified the Detailed trap mib file to include additional details from the database.

Orion to PEM to Remedy is exactly what we are doing. I will say that it works great too.

Our Manager would like to integrate Orion NPM with Patrol Event Manager (PEM) and I don't know how to to that...could you be kind and give me more information on how did you integrate it?What do we need ?

I've looked over that document...but I didn't mentioned that the mnagement would like to integrate with BMC Patrol not by sending email alerts, but by running external scripts or by SNMP.

For alerts, syslog and traps we can send emails or run scripts, so that should situate what you are looking to do.

Hi Bshopp,

I know the feature of running scripts for alerts/syslogs/traps...but what I don't know is exactly how can I run an external script for a trap for example...and inside that script to use the dynamic variables...for example...if interface X of node Y goes down, how could I run the external program using variables Interface X and Node Y in it ?

The customer recommended that the external program would be msend...so if anyone else used this program before...please let me know how you dit it.
