Why aren't the cloud services SolarWinds offer in the thwack?
my question...why does Librato not connect to Azure
Hi dodo123 - while we don't have a turn-key integration with Azure yet, you can use Collectdwin and the Collectd integration to track metrics on Windows machines (assuming you are using WIndows on Azure...). There are also a number of language bindings that you can use to instrument your code. This page lists the languages and open source collection agents that work with Librato: Choose from 75+ Supported Collection Agents | Librato
Good question about why the cloud offerings aren't in Thwack. I'll chat with the Thwack team about that.
Hi, would we not just install the solarwinds agent for that? I really need to monitor the kit its on as well as the windows boxes?
gminks or @stevenwhunt can help with that.
yes your right and I will be doing that. Its the cloud (host) im interested in or should I say the infrastructure team are, I assume its a very different setup than amazon or there is a license requirement stopping SolarWinds using the api's?
dodo123, Microsoft is evolving their publicly available APIs from where the Azure platform originally started. We have been working closely with Amazon and Microsoft on how to best monitor the IaaS services they provide. Keep an eye on What We're Working On Beyond SAM 6.3 (Updated October 4, 2016), and feel free to join the Server & Application Monitor Beta group. The beta is where you will get first glimpse of new features like these as we work to release them publicly. Also, feel free to reach out to me one-on-one to discuss what it is you are specifically looking for with regards to your environment.
