I’m trying to make a new template… I want to do an SNMP import of an Adtran TA5000. When I import it, there are TONS of things that I don’t want to monitor. There is nothing that I want to import past the node itself. I don’t have any Pollers, UDT ports, or Application monitors that I want to add yet… In fact we are monitoring VDSL and xDSL ports - I don't want/have to create a template for applications, as I am simply trying to monitor the DSL and physical ports for these pieces of equipment.
All I want to do is create a Template that allows me to automatically only search for CERTAIN resources based on a type of Node or piece of equipment that I am importing - for example, a template for an Adtran TA5000 or a Calix C7, and I only want the DSL ports to be included, not anything pertaining to Voice. like T1's etc.
I'd like to be able to specify a template before or on import so that when adding a piece of equipment it only searches for and discovers certain interfaces based on their OID, etc.
It doesn’t take long at all for Calix pieces of equipment, and all of the active resources that are found I want…. However with a piece of Adtran equipment it takes forever to scan for resources, and I was hoping I could just specify certain things I DON’T want to look for, and then the process could be more streamlined.
