Does Solarwinds have a Southbound interface yet?

I'm exploring the option of using a northbound interface on a vendor centralized management system to try and push data up to Solarwinds so I only have to refer to one site for information. The vendor system also does not have any type of email alerting. I poked around a bit on Thwack and saw comments from 6+ years ago alluding to Solarwinds not having the ability to accept north bound traps. Is this still accurate or is there some sort of work around? The vendor devices are SNMP aware and that is how I'm currently monitoring them, but just wondering if there is a way to cut down on traffic from the individual devices if I can combine it to just traffic between the management system and Solarwinds.

I assume your referring to this post 'QUESTION: Does Solarwinds have a Northbound Interface?'.

SolarWinds has a fairly good API to push/pull data.

SNMP traps can be received, as well as forward traps to a new destination.

Not 100% understanding your use case.

LOL, I don't completely understand either. I was actually referring to this post: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/resources/thwack-command-center/f/forum/29777/does-solarwinds-have-a-southbound-interface from six years ago. I couldn't find anything more recent really referencing northbound or southbound that seemed applicable.

The vendor software doesn't have any alerting, but talks to all the devices via SNMP already. With the thought in mind to try and cut down on excess/duplicate traffic, I thought I could have everything from the vendor software which clearly states it has a northbound interface relay up to Solarwinds and cut Solarwinds out of talking to the individual devices. The more I think about it though I just don't think this is feasible for our environment.

Which vendor is this? Do the allow any remote management (SNMP/WMI/API)? If so SolarWinds might be the easier system to monitor them.

If your other vendor supports any sort of external call you can likely integrate it with your ITSM (webhook/email/SNMP trap/syslog/even if you have to scrap a log to do it), tho I will say I prefer a proper NMS/Monitoring tool to do this.

It is Adva. With your comments though I do think Solarwinds is more advanced with being able to monitor and create custom pollers and whatnot, so I may just scrap this idea. It's not like it is a ton of traffic and I have it isolated to its own network segment.
