World Maps and Dashboards

Hello,

We'd like to create a world map and a dashboard that's easily usable for our service desk and management. I've looked through the manual, but not sure where to find this info. Are there templates within SolarWinds that could provide what we're looking for? Just not sure how to get started or if there is a better roadmap.

Hey ... your query is quite broad but let me try and narrow it down somewhat.

So, if I understand your need, you can include maps into either Orion Maps or Network Atlas. Orion Maps is the future as NA is to be deprecated at some point and all you need here is a suitable map in JPeG, PNG or GIF format and under the map settings you assign it as your background. You then simply start placing your nodes, etc on top of this and save.

Dashboards is an entirely different area and you can either create your own page view, edit an existing one or go down the road of Modern Dashboards. The first two are just a matter of adding/removing/sorting various different widgets into a format you (or the management) would like to see.

As it appears you want the dashboard to be for external viewers, then personally I'd go down the road of a modern dashboard.
