Why should I go to version 9.2? What great benefits justifies the time spent to upgrade? Thanks, and Best Wishes!
If you only have DPA, there doesn't seem any advantage in going to 9.2. If you use the Orion tools, then it may be of use.
Is DPA 9.2 of any value over 9.1 for non-Orion users?
That's true about 9.2, but there were some cool things in 9.1 that would be included in 9.2. Most notably the ability to exclude SQL statements from the trend charts (if there's one that's really skewing the scale, you can make it disappear and then add back in as needed). The other feature I really liked was the ability to annotate manually in the trend chart. This feature is cool for environmental changes like adding memory or changing parameters or ???. Great way to track performance before and after.
These along with some bug fixes might be worth upgrading... If not, then there are sure to be some exciting things coming up soonish that may tip the scale.
All good to know!! Much obliged to each of you!
As far as highlighting DPA 9.1 features which are also in 9.2, don't forget support for Amazon RDS. If you are beginning to work with cloud databases, this may be of interest.
