Assing exsisting Orion.limitation to Orion.Account

Hi together,

i am looking for a way to assing an exsisting limitation to a SAML group account automated with Powershell using Orion SDK.

The only method i found is to create a new limitation using Change default account permissions - Forum - Network Performance Monitor (NPM) - THWACK (solarwinds.com) article.

Is there really no other way around?

As far as I know, It is not possible to update limitation of an account using "UpdateAccount" verb in Orion.Accounts objects. But you can achieve this by updating "Accounts" database table using SolarWinds API.

If you know the ID (ex:10) of the limitation that is already defined in SolarWinds and the AccountID (ex: testuser) to be updated, you can use the code part below to set the limitation:

$LimitationID = 10
$AccountID = "testuser"

$updateQuery = "UPDATE Accounts set LimitationID1=$LimitationID WHERE AccountID='$AccountID'"

$swis = Connect-Swis -Hostname "SolarWinds_Server_Name" -UserName "User" -Password "Pass"

Invoke-SwisVerb $swis Orion.Reporting ExecuteSQL $updateQuery
