Change default account permissions

Hi guys,

I'm looking foward to change Orion default permissions when creating a new account. The point is I need to limit the account to not see any nodes in Orion by default, and then change manually the permissions to whatever is necessary.

I saw a discussion from 12 years ago saying this changes are hardcoded, so can't be changed. But maybe now there is a way to do this.

Hi there,

The best option you would have is to create these accounts and assign them limitations using the Orion SDK. Something like this PowerShell below will create an account with minimum rights called 'test' with password 'test', then assign it an Account Limitation that limits it to nodes whose caption contains the words 'THISDOESNTEXIST' (AKA, none - hopefully!):

$swis = Connect-Swis -Hostname localhost -UserName admin -Password **********

Invoke-SwisVerb $swis -EntityName Orion.Accounts -Verb CreateOrionAccount -Arguments @('test','test')

Invoke-SwisVerb $swis -EntityName Orion.Limitations -Verb CreateLimitation -Arguments @(3,$null,$null,'%THISDOESNTEXIST%',"test")

Once you have this working you could automate this for a large number of accounts.
