Where to start?

I am VERY new to solarwinds.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  For now, I want to have a display (dashboard or report) to show all the domain controllers on one page/report.  Another dashboard/report to show all the firewalls. 

I also want some pages, to show bandwidth usage either one page per firewall showing the different interfaces (Voip, guest wifi, VPN, internal port, WAN port) or a page for each interface type that shows each firewall bandwidth for that interface.

I have watched some videos and saw how to create some dashboards, but don't know how to isolate it to just DCs or just Firewalls.

I am capable of doing research, just kinda overwhelmed with SW.

Not knowing what your naming convention, or manufacturer you are using you may want to start by filling in Custom Properties for each type such as Domain Controller, Firewall, etc. so you can use the custom property in your filters. Custom Properties are available under Manage Nodes and Custom Property Editor. I think there is an out of the box CP called DeviceType that you could use.  

Follow these instructions using the SWQL query below. If you use a different CP than DeviceType you will need to replace that in the query.

In the 'Where' part of the query replace Domain Controller with whatever you put in your Custom Property
