Unable to upgrade to 2022.3

Currently trying to upgrade our production environment from 2020.2.6 to 2022.3 but the installer appears to stick on the check validation page for hours, resulting in me having to cancel the installation.

The upgrade ran fine in our DEV setup, so not entirely sure what the issue is.

Attached are the screens that are displayed on running either the offline or online installer.

I have also uploaded the logs from the OrionInstaller.boostrap log as well as the log for the AdministrationService.Client.log

I notice from near the end of the AdministrationService.Client.log file there is an entry that states

[16] ERROR (null) SolarWinds.Administration.Installer.ErrorHandler.HttpResponseAdapter - Unexpected error occured.
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This message appears to be what is displayed on the splash screen albeit not very clearly, but its not quite clear what this error is actually referring to?

Does anyone have any ideas?

I am not aware of other similar reports with this behavior you are seeing and admittedly It is not being handled very well and should be improved. Do you have a support case I can look at to get this tracked with engineering?

Yes I have a support ticket open - Case # - 01205456

I have been working with them, but all suggestions to date have been unsuccessful.

I have managed to stage the files on the polling engines, but even after being able to achieve this, the update now sits idling on the installation report page, with nothing displayed, and the next button greyed out.

Back to the drawing board again.

Ok so we have now managed to upgrade our environment to 2022.3, had a few hiccups along the way but got them ironed out.

Issue that we have now is that the OrionLog / NTA databases that have been installed have been installed on the server system drive rather than the Data / Log drives that we have specifically for the Databases.

There was not options in the install to say where files were required to be installed, however we need these to be moved to the correct locations.

Is there a proper process for moving these databases to another drive?

I tried to upgrade from 2020.2.6 to 2022.3 twice. Both times failed miserably. Second time I have SolarWinds assist and still could not get it done. They recommended waiting until 2022.4. The 2022.4 version was just released but I am going to wait and not be a guinea pig this time. I cannot handle the all night attempts to update any longer.
