Can computer details be edited?

Is it possible to make any changes to the 'computer details' section under Asset tab? Specifically, if we could just edit the 'Name' field it would allow us to check-in computers prior to actually imaging/configuring them.  This is so as a department head I can know in more real-time what our on-hand computer inventory is, regardless of whether it's been setup and ready for deployment.

You can create a computer record with information such as the Serial and provide a temporary name/title such as Spare or Stock. Once created, imaging that device will automatically update the name to the imaged name by looking at the Serial to target the correct record. Since the name/title will always look at the imaged name, you cannot edit, but you can create with a temporary name.
