Hi!
I'm analyzing options in order to increase the monitoring capability of the system. Currently, we are monitoring about 115.000 components (SAM module), with one MP + 3 APEs, (Running on four different servers, one for MP, three for APEs).
Of course, we have exceed the system capabilities, and we need to solve this, as we had to increase the polling interval to stay under 80% of polling rate. Increase intervals over the advisable limits. Beyond that, we need a solution.
Nowadays, we have a component-based licensing scheme, which allows to have up to 10k components per APE. Therefore, one option is to increase the number of APEs up to ~10 .
But, I've read that under the node-base licensing scheme, it is possible have 1 APE for ~40K component monitors at no extra licensing cost.
However, I ask. ~40K with the same hardware I'd use for one single APE to monitor 10k components? Or this refers to the possibility of stacking up to 4 APEs on the same server? There is any other advantages, as better performance, 1 node-base APE vs 4 component-base APE?
Of course, we are looking for the cheapest solution considering licesing, hardware, etc, etc.
Looking forward for your opinions! Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
