Uptime Report By Device Type

I am trying to create a report with no success yet.

The report needs to show uptime for previous week by device type group,(ex. servers, printers, UPS, etc). Then if the user wished able to click the specific device type to expand and see the individuals nodes in each device type grouping. So, far I have not found a similar report listed in the forum.

Layout and minimum columns I am looking to include in the report

Device Type Uptime

Servers 99%

Printers 100%

UPS 100%

etc.

Then for each device type being a link that if clicked on will expand and list the individual components for each grouping and the uptime for those devices.

This really depends on what you mean by "device type." You have Servers, Printers, UPS, etc. above, but that's now how devices self-identify. They will normally identify as "Windows 2019 Server" or "Cisco 2821" or "APC SmartUPS 2700" or something like that. Isn't there already an Availability (Availability is a percentage whereas Uptime is a time) report that has this information?

To clarify "device type" should have clarified that is a custom field and not a field that SW uses to self-identify the node. I am taking over for an individual that originally setup the environment and left. The previous individual created the custom device types and updated the customer field for each node with the corresponding custom type.

I am able to get a report that list each node and the uptime and sorted by the custom field but is a very large report. I am trying to reduce the size of the initial report to show a line for each custom device group as a single listing for uptime by each group. Then if my boss wants to expand the group to see the individual nodes listed and their uptime he can.

I cannot figure out how to show combined uptime for all the servers for example and not listing every server individually.

I am still fairly new to the SW application.

You should be able to create a Node report with the following fields in a Custom Table:

The custom property (e.g. DeviceType)
Availability -- change the data aggregation of this field to Average

That should show you the device type and average availability of all the devices with that property.

This is using Last Week (note that it is different to Last 7 Days), devices without a DeviceType property show as blank.

Once you have created the table you can select the time period from the Layout Builder step when creating the report.
