hello Thwack family!
I've been having trouble getting monitoring out of our VCentre and ESX hosts lately.
nodes were initially added as ICMP only on the Vcentre, and SNMP v2c on the ESX Hosts. Since taking on monitoring I've been asked to tidy it up and get more details.. .
I know that you can use NPM to connect to the Vcentre and pull host/guest OS details/status directly, but it doesnt seem to be working.
NOTE: VMAN was installed as a trial license previously, but has since been removed.
Things I have been through so far:
Removed all nodes relating to VMware, then re-added the VCentre IP address using the VMWare API node scree, connecting with an administrator account. There are no errors given at this point.
The Vcentre node adds, shows up as pinging ok, but "Status unkown" for all other details, and does not populate any host/guest OS information.
I have confirmed from my Orion server I can web onto the Vcentre using HTTPS, navigate to //VCentreIPaddress/apiexplorer and successfully use GET to pull host / datacentre details.
NPM version 2020.2.5. Im wondering if the previous installation of VMAN has confused the situation?
