Adding nodes of different polling methods and adding volumes and interfaces via the api

Hello everyone, I am very new to orion scripting and really scripting in general. I easily got all of this to work using CRUD but using the API has been tricky as it only discovers nodes with an ICMP polling method. Beyond that i cannot get it to discover anything else. Any help would be appreciated as i do not really understand too much of the api call!

Have you checked out the Samples in the OrionSDK GitHub Repository? They are fairly well documented/commented. What is your preferred scripting language for interfacing with the API?

I have checked them out within powershell and i believe when the SNMP discovery and WMI discovery are ran, it is supposed to discover the volumes correct? Mine are not and when i try to discover the interfaces, i get this weird error i can provide if needed.

You are talking about two different things (at least under the hood).

Discoveries - sweep a network, set of IPs, or domain and import all the things that match pre-defined criteria
Adding Nodes - done one at a time

Both are described in some detail in the samples (Discovering WMI Nodes and Adding WMI Nodes)

Depending on your use case, one may be more beneficial than the other. I will say one thing that applies to both of them: put the credentials you want to use into the Orion web console first and test them on (at least) one device. It's much easier to use the verbs/build the XML if you have the credential IDs already on hand and know they work.

Amazing! This worked to perfection for WMI Nodes! Thank you! I am having a problem with the SNMPv3 node discovery though. It is adding them as ICMP and not discovering any volumes with it. Do you know what the issue could be?
