We are upgrading from version 12.4 to 2020.2.4, Is there any backwards compatibility for Agents?

We need the current agents to keep monitoring as we upgrade? Do they maintain some functionality even if the agents are the old version, and the SolarWinds pollers are on the new one? This is important as we need agent monitoring to keep functioning as we upgrade our SolarWinds deployment.

Yes, you can wait to upgrade agents, assuming you have the automatic upgrade disabled. Otherwise once your Servers update the agent will see the new version and start rolling it out. One of the upgrades needed a newer .Net version, definitely review the agent requirements before any upgrade just to be sure they will work.

Thank you for answering.Just to clarify the old agents will keep working with the new version installed on the pollers? Then we can upgrade the agents as needed (we have automatic updates disabled). Just want to make sure we don't lose monitoring or data as we upgrade.
