Powershell or Javascript Orion Database script

Greetings,

I would like to know how one would write a script, using Powershell or Javascript, which would compare the string 'down' to the contents of the StatusDescription field in the Orion.NodesData table?  This script would be run on a monitoring server and not on the database server.

I recommend using the api and powershell, although javascript could hit the rest interface directly
