HowTo: Google Map in SolarWinds Orion using Custom HTML widget

Overview

After the most recent update to Orion Platform 2020.2.4 I was no longer able to view down nodes using a custom aspx page as described in Google Maps in Orion NPM. As a result I decided to look for other options and found that the Custom HTML Widget fit my needs.

What you need

You'll need a Custom Property for your nodes call "onMap"
A Google Maps API key.
attached html/javascript code

What to do

Add a custom HTML widget to your view
Once the widget has been added you can edit and insert the code into the appropriate text box.

Now you'll be able to see down nodes on the map with a link when you click the node pin to the node details page.

I can't get this to work. I've added the onMap property as a text property and I can execute the swql and it returns all the proper data but nothing displays on the map. Did you have to specify an image file? I've tried several different combinations but it still shows up blank.

In the code on line 52 I'm specifying where to pull the image file based off of nd.StatusLED.

var image = '/Orion/images/StatusIcons/Small-'+response.d.Rows[i][4];

Note that the map will only display down nodes due to filtering in the query for nd.Status =2.

I can't get this to work. I've added the onMap property as a text property and I can execute the swql however the Googles Maps API key is locking the map. How do you get a private Google API key without having to setup billing and other information required?
