I want to create a KPI widget which monitor if windows services are down.

I have created a SAM template which monitors services running on a specific server. I like to have a KPI widget which is green if all services are running, and yellow or red if some services are stopped. 

I have found this already, but i'm not able (due to my knowledge) to create a widget monitoring services

Here are some queries which may be useful for what you have in mind.

Count of applications that are not Up.

SELECT count(1) as count_apps From orion.Apm.Application where statusDescription !='Up'

Count of application components which are not Up

Select count(1) as count_appcomp from Orion.Apm.Component where StatusDescription !='Up'

To look at only specific applications or components you would need to add a where clause such as 

SELECT count(1) as count_apps From orion.Apm.Application where statusDescription !='Up' and name ='My Application Name'
