Hide map objects in Network Atlas/NPM

Is there a way of making a map object invisible in Network Atlas/NPM?

The reason I ask is that we want a child object (network interface) which is 3 level down in a map to affect the map status of the top level map so if the interface goes down the top level map will go yellow with a red dot. I can achieve this by putting the interface object on the map 1 level down but it would be good to make this object invisible or hidden.

Any ideas?

Not sure if this will help with your scenario but give it a try.

Try using the Edit feature

Then you can apply filters

You can use Caption Not Like to exclude a node.
