My company has been using Orion NPM for the past 2 weeks and are leaving in our old Nagios system in place until we are completely comfortable. We are monitoring the same devices in both systems with *roughly* the same alert parameters. I got a node down alert for a particular device in Nagios but did not see the same alert in Orion. Looking at the graphs, I do see packet loss for that device in Orion but no alert.
My theory is that the device was recovering during the Orion polling interval. The way I understand it is that Orion sends out 10 echo requests per polling interval. My question is, How do I verify this theory? Is there a log or database table I can query to see the ping results for a polling interval that kicked off, say, 5 hours ago for a specific device?
