i want to create WAN link utilization alerts to send an 'email' on x% util for x minutes and another to send a 'page' for x% util for x hours.
what do you think for a T1 circuit 'email' at 90% util for 45 min and a 'page' on 90% util for 3 hours. anything wrong with this? what would you suggest or what are you doing?
how about other links - such as Metro Ethernet, MultiLinks, Gigabit Ethernet, DSL, .etc?
And
is anyone using NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) in parallel with these types of alerts? that is, to identify a Source IP for the high util and attach that info to an alert?
