Network Atlas label alignment

I am not able to use "alignment" and "distribute" with labels in network atlas.  Those buttons are grayed out when I have multiple labels selected.  We have many labels in our maps and we are constantly making changes, so this is a major inconvenience. This used to work in the old mapmaker, and I'm hoping a minor tweak in the next service pack can bring back this functionality.

 

Note: The alignment and distrubite options work fine when I have the actual nodes selected.  We are running 9.5 SP2.

I am having similar issues. While the alignment option is not greyed out when I select multiple labels, it doesn't seem to work at all, regardless of how many I select. In the old map maker, I was able to use a variable and then align the labels left, thus making the label information line up no matter the length. Now that the alignment isn't working, I have a lot of labels that are overlapping my node icons. Also, for the record, my experience with the "distribute" option matches yours.

Edit: I just realized that you are probably talking about the align option under edit, rather than the text alignment options under home. Doh! In that case, I'm having the exact same issue.
