Hi All, I am observing few issues in NPM 12.3; NCM 7.8; where few user of a group account is unable to access some parameters. e.g. * one user was unable to access NCM configuration page, while other were able to do so. Case#00295423 * other user is unable to see latest alert from alerts page in solarwinds while it is working fine for other; he is able to receive alerts on email. Have anyone come across similar issue. Is there a way to mitigate such issue, the NCM issue disappeared suddenly after some time, While Alert issue just appeared. Thanks Prashant

Hi All,

I am observing few issues in NPM 12.3; NCM 7.8; where few user of a group account is unable to access some parameters. e.g.

i've had similar issues where i didn't realize i was logged out of my domain (admin) account, but i was actually logged in as "DirectLink" which is kind of like a "guest" account. check the top right hand corner, are they logged in with their domain?

In our case user were logged in via there AD credential. I also restarted the services but it didn't helped.

It certainly sounds like a permissioning issue. Have you compared the users in question to see what rights they have?

Make sure the user doesn’t have a Local SQL or Windows Individual account on the box as they will get priority, then check user isn’t in multiple AD groups that span multiple Orion AD Groups as there is a priority order and it could be the user is getting different permissions than intended.

The user is part of the same group as other admins.

Users are part of the same admin group and I observed that each time he was having an issue he was using the same login credential as other admins. As part of being admin, we do have access to other AD groups as well. Both the users having an issue do not have a SQL account on the box, and every admin can log in via AD credential.

All I can suggest is to recreate the user in question.

Check the Orion.Web Log and see if there are any errors otherwise I’m afraid it might need a Diagnostics to Support.
