Config Wizard Database configuration failed - could not find part of the path

Hello,

I have just upgraded NPM from 11.5.3 to 12.

My current software levels are:

NPM 12

NCM 7.4.1

IPAM 4.3.1

I am aware these are out of support and I am currently in the process of upgrading to supported versions.

When I run the configuration wizard after the upgrade from NPM 11.5.3 to 12 I get the following Database configuration failure:

Database configuration failed:

- Expectation while configuring plugin SolarWinds NCM Integration Plugin component Orion Database Update. Could not find a part of the path 'C\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\Reports'.

When I check the directory 'C\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds' I can see that the folder Configuration Management has been renamed to 'Configuration Management.backup.ewjhtahre'. I removed .backup.ewjhtahre and ran the configuration wizard again. It seems that the configuration wizard renames the folder with .backup.*randomcharacters* and then is unable to find it as it has been renamed. I've had a good look online and found nothing about this. I am running without UAC and as an admin.

I've checked the permission checker and found four failures for 'C:\ProgramData\ApplicationData\SolarWinds\' however when clicking repair the failures are still found on subsequent runs. I have also browsed to the directory and ApplicationData isn't visible despite turning on hidden files and folders view.

Technically, 12.0 is still supported until August 31, 2019 Currently supported software versions - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support But I'm very happy you're upgrading to the latest and greatest simply because there are many advantages and features that await you in the latest versions.

Could you list the failures that are listed in the permission checker?
