Hi everyone! First time posting, so hang with me!
We're building out a new shared services all-in-one Orion environment that is taking the place of 4 separate, company-specific, legacy environments. I am currently wrapping up the 1.0 version of it with the basics of what we've needed thus far and have been working with team members and my boss on the road map of future improvements/changes for future version of this environment. One thing I'd really like to do is improve the information we're providing in our node down alerts. I feel that we have a solid starting place, but I wanted to see what the Thwack community has done to their email alerting to provide upfront, crucial information for the teams that receive them. What are some great variables/information that you use for your email alerts that help empower your consumers?
Here's what we've started with:
Subject line of email (mostly out of custom properties): Alert Severity | Development Environment | Company | Node Name | Alert Name Here's an example: Critical | Prod | Company A | node01.company.name | Node Down Alert
For our email body on a node down alert, this is what we have:
This system last polled on: 12/20/2019 10:33:52 AM
Device Name: node01
Status: Critical
IP Address: X.X.X.X
Location: Branch
Device Owner: team email
App Owner: team email if applicable
Node details: Link
