Not withstanding CPU/Disk/RAM/Bandwidth VM constraints, how many NICs (no teaming, or the like) can one put into a Polling Engine (NPM 12) & APE assuming that:
- there are no overlapping networks;
- each NIC is in their own VLAN;
- only the NIC connected to the Management network has a default route to get to Internet...all other NICs do not have a gateway assigned;
- there is not intra-VLAN routing occurring
For example, if the Main NIC (access to Internet) is 1GB, is it possible to have 10 NICs at 100Mbps in a single APE or Polling Engine?
A subquestion would be process for adding multiple NICs:
- Add the NICs prior to installing the APE s/w
- APE s/w and then add the customer facing NICs
I currently have 2 installed in all APEs and Polling Engine; however, I'm having odd issues (inconsistent) with adding a 3rd.
Not seeing anything in the documentation eluding to this. Any and all feedback is welcome.
Kindest of regards,
ME
