Advanced Disk Space Alerts

Hi,

I am trying to set up advanced disk space alerts on my exchange boxes. I need to set up a when certain drives hit 35% and certain drives hit 40% and so on. So I am setting up different alerts for 35%, 40% etc and then I want to enter specific drives into these alert. When I am doing this and setting the alert as active I am getting disk space alerts for all nodes across my network not just my exchange boxes even though I am specifying my exchange drives. Obvioulsy I am getting the trigger conditions wrong. Can anyone help me with what triggers I would need to set in these alerts?

This is actually really easy. You just need to make 3 alerts and do some clever custom property work.

% used > 30
[Custom Property] is {Value}

% used > 40
[Custom Property] is {Value}

% used > 50
[Custom Property] is {Value}

We alert at 85%, and then 90% also. The first is really informational, but the second we flag as critical in our NOC. The latter is attached.

We just flag all hard drives that we want to watch as {Servers}. With this, I have two alerts to span all of our hard drives. If there is any one hard drive that needs to be watched at a lower value, it gets it's own alert to look at that specific drive.

In your situation you might be creating a lot of alerts.

Here is example of a disk alert for our SQL Servers only...

Thanks for you reply. Your alert is only on servers, can the same alert be applied to different drives on different servers? Screen shot attached.

Hi.

I do something similar. I use custom properties to achieve this. For hard drives you want to alert on at 35%, just give them a custom property of 35. For the 40's do something similar.

Then you just alert on when space >35% and custom property is equal to 35.

TGIF everyone... So I'm fairly new to Thwack and SW. I have a simple alert defined but when it alerts, I never get the server name that is at fault.

Volume Type = Fixed Disk

Vol % used is greater or = 95%

SNMP Community is set to MSFT

Mainrole is = to Backup server (Backup server is defined in the Properties on the Solar Winds Node) I have other options to choose but all produce the same result. Whan this alert is used for all servers I get 11 e-mails with no server name...just generic alert. any ideas?
