Why can I see the traps in trap view but not in the trap of the NPM?

I have several devices sending SNMP traps to the Orion NMP. When I view the trap view, I can see the traps come in, but when I go to look at them in the NMP GUI, the re are no traps.

When we had the demo software it woprked no problem. Why is this happening?

Can you provide more information, what version and SP level are you running?

Do you possibly have view limitations set up? Or any filters set up on the GUI?

Off topic - my syslog is 4 hours ahead since 9.5? anyone else?

If I understand your description correctly I have the same issue since I upgraded to v9.5; neither SP1 nor SP2 has fixed the issue (actually I have a separate case open on SP2 - stops my website refreshes after about 10 minutes so I am back on SP1 until I hear more from support - case #103164).

I can view the traps in the standalone trap viewer and I can view the traps in the Top 25 list I have on my summary page. However, on the Traps webpage no traps appear with an one exception...

I have an open case #99930 on this - have been told it is a known bug. I have supplied info to support to assist with troubleshooting.

For testing reasons I actually cleared my traps and trapvarbinds table to have a fresh start - the first record in my table is dated 6/9/09 @ 05:57:47. We generate several hundred traps/day minimum right now.

Here is my testing so far (keep in mind this test was performed in June; now I have to do Last Month to mimic results) - it seems this is a SQL query issue - it is displaying records from the first record as long as it can get all the way back to the first record based on the other criteria given; very odd...

Query: This month – 500 traps; RESULT: traps displayed with range of 6/9/09 5:57:47pm (first one listed at top) to 6/10/09 4:38:46pm (last one listed at bottom) - this was exactly the first 500 records listed in my table from the beginning

Query: Last 7 Days – 500 traps; RESULT: no traps displayed

Query: Last 7 Days – 1000 traps; RESULT: no traps displayed

Query: Last 7 Days – 5000 traps; RESULT: no traps displayed

Query: Last 7 Days – 10000 traps; RESULT: no traps displayed

Query: This month – 10000 traps; RESULT: traps displayed with range of 6/9/09 5:57:47pm (first one listed at top) to 6/17/09 2:20:06pm (last one listed at bottom)

Query: Last 24 Hours – 1000 traps; RESULT: no traps displayed

OK I just checked in our system and we are looking into this as described above and have a defect opened on this issue. totalcomm, just an FYI, we have released SP2 for 9.5, you can read the release notes on Thwack

Hi, did this ever get fixed? I've just enabled SNMP trapping on my system and am experiencing exactly the same issue of traps visible in the viewer app and Traps Summary but nothing on the actual Traps page.

GaryP, are you on the latest SP?
