Custom Poller - OID Advice needed

Hello,

Bit frustrated... We have many MS Server 2003 TSs running our main software. We use Orion 8.5 to monitor all of the bells and whistles. I would like to create a custom poller to return the number of users connected to each server. The users utilize RDP to establish a session on the server. I have tried many different OIDs (found on Google, Thwack, GetIF etc.) and none of them return the same results as the Terminal Services Manager does when viewing active sessions; which is what I am after. If anyone knows this magic number or can point me to a resource to assist in finding it, I would be eternally in your debt... uhh, or at least most thankful!

There's no OID for Windows to return the number of connected TS clients connection. This is only available with the higher end license of Citrix (Enterprise I believe)

You should be able to do this in the future when the release the next version of Application Performance Monitor which should include a generic WMI monitor.

I almost forgot. If you don't own APM, and don't plan to purchase it, there's another option. If you install SNMP Informant on your terminal servers you can retrieve the information you're looking for via SNMP using the custom MIB poller. You won't be able to get away with the free version of SNMP Informant but $50.00 a server might be a reasonable price depending on how many terminal servers you're looking to monitor.

Darn, not the reply I was hoping for... Thank you for the information, as it will save me wasting more time looking for that which doesn't exist. We do have APM, so I reckon we shall wait for the update!
