orion database on a SAN

Are there any best pratices for a SAN environment as far as the Orion database is concerned? I heard in a webcast that solarwinds had some best practices for those of us using Orion in a SAN environment.

Orion and the associated database server can utilize a SAN storage backend, however, it needs to be designed with high write performance and high transaction counts in mind. Utilizing an existing SAN that was implemented with other lower transaction count applications in mind will likely cause performance issues for Orion and its associated modules. If the SAN is designed and implemented with high transaction counts and fast write performance as major considerations it should be a successful solution.

I have the opposite issue. I am on a high performance SAN and my write queue's are fine but read queue's are normally averageing around 5+ or hgher.
