We are migrating to PowerMax 8500 arrays and have trouble monitoring the arrays with SRM. The only option was to add the arrays as a node using ICMP (ping) which doesn't give any information. SolarWinds SRM needs to be able to connect to the array type from Dell nativily. These arrays do not use the older SMI-S protocol…
Hello, Any ETA for the above-mentioned feature request as I am able to add arrays from the external provider, but that's temporary, and shows array status unreachable after some time. The case already been logged for this 00941229.
Hello, Hopefully one of you report guru's can assist me in creating the following chart in one of my reports. I have an array that has 3 storage pools (all-ssd, all-fc and all-nl). I would like to do a stacked column chart to show each pool (Free Space / Total Space) per pool For Example all-ssd…
I've recently been asked about monitoring a Promise Vtrak SAN (Class A3800f). Apparently this model doesn't support SNMP or doesn't support it without a hardware upgrade. Has anyone here succeeded in monitoring it via direct connection to a Solarwinds poller? How about through an API? Thanks!
Hi all, Could anyone out there tell me how you have your environment setup to provide best possible performance? 1. We are all virtual. 2. We are on SAN storage. 3. We are a decently large environment with a pretty large database. and several additional pollers. We believe the problem to be related to SAN or Disk…
Please add support for the Kaminario SAN. The arctechture is similar to the EMC X-Brick and the OS has a full API.
Hey guys! I need some input on some alarm rationale I'm working on. We got a Linux cluster of four servers. Each server has file system that is mapped to a shared NFS share. The NFS share capacity is being monitored by Linux Script Monitor using SAM. What is happens when the capacity of the share reaches a threshold, an…
If you've been a systems administrator for long you've probably dealt with application performance problems that turned out to be caused by disk Input/Output (I/O) performance. Not too many years ago this was why we replaced IDE drives with SCSI arrays when we were building application and/or database servers. Back then we…
This is a report specifically for keeping track of LUNs and NAS volumes capacity usage and when they will be full. It sorts these volumes and LUNs by which ones are expected to run out earliest and lists when it is expected happen based on regular growth (barring something unforeseen). This is an Orion report for the SRM…
There are some entities like SANs or LUNs that are provisioned at 100% of their capacity that it is as intended, but SRM generates warning for them due to thresholds. There is no way how to disable it, so what about to create a way to have ability to disable the thresholds on demand?
