Dual links to core, map doesn't display 1 link down

I have dual layer 3 links from the closet switches to the core. When one of the links goes down, none of the maps display a link down problem since the device is still reachable. The main web page lists the link down but the map icons remain green. If the device is totally down the icon goes red. Is there any way to make the icon change color even if the device is still reachable but one link is down? The maps I made are mutli-nested meaning the first map shows the state, drill down into that and you are in the city, drill into that your in the campus...on and on until you get to the device. I would like the top level map (state) to indicate a problem if any monitored link fails. Is it possible?

On the device level map do you have the interface objects added to the map?

I do. I have both of the fiber interfaces checked. The top level map makes everything look like its working but as you drill down through the maps, when you get the specific campus, then you see the interface down.

I would like the top level maps to display yellow or red when any monitored interface is down, even if the device is still reachable. Should this product be able to do this or since the device is still reachable, the top level maps are unable to produce other than a green indicator?

Are you using Tri-color Icons for your map objects?

Open you top level map in Map Maker, right click on an open area and check the map properties. The top slider bar has to be all the way over to the right at 100%.

It is at 100% and we are using the tri-colors, I think. If a node is truly unreachable then the map icon does change colors to either yellow or red.

Hi all,
I have a similar question - we have dual links between our sites and I want the links to go red when one of the interfaces is unreachable - however it only works if the status goes to DOWN. I need the colour to change when the status goes to UNKNOWN - since this is what Orion is marking the interfaces as often.

The unknown status doesn't change the colour on the map - is there any way to change this? The only workaround is to have the link attached to the the overal device status - but since we have dual links the device is normally accessible and only goes down if it's completely down. Is there a way to get UNKNOWN status on the map to change the colour of the link to say Orange or something else so that I can see the status has changed?
