Integrate Orion with another system to receive its alarms, performance information and inventory || API or WebService

Hi guys,

My customer is asking me integrate their systems where they get alarms and performance information from another network, the idea is that those alarmas and performance information can be send to Orion, basically, they want to see Orion like the central portal where can see all the alarms. My customer is asking me to integrate their systems by "Web Services" or "APIs" and I was thinking and maybe Orion can do that, Do someone know if Orion is able to integrate with other systems to receive information (alarmas, performance, inventory).

Orion is not an even correlation system normally.  It doesn't have much in the way of built in methods for ingesting alarms from external sources except for by sending syslogs/traps to orion.  The part where things could get a bit messy is that Orion would map the alert to the object based on the source IP of the event message, so you might have to cook up some sort of scheme that fakes the source ip of the syslog message as being the node you wanted to raise an alert on. 

At the end of the day something could be made, but its a little bit of trying to use a wrench to drive nails. Not exactly the correct tool for the job but if you try hard enough you can make it work.
