Migrating Nodes to Different Poller

I'm sure this has to have been asked, but my searches are coming up blank via the forums and google.

We are currently running 8.5.1 on the latest service pack.

Is there a documented process for migrating nodes (int,volumes, etc) from one polling engine to another? If we wanted to collapse one polling engine, I'd like to move all the devices to another engine without losing their historical data and/or having to delete and re-create them all.

If there's no documented process is there a kludge of SQL changes I can make that will pull it off?

This functionality is found within the Monitor Polling Engines application with Orion. It's under "Advanced Features". Once you open the application, choose "Server" --> "Poller Load Balancing".

So, fast forward to 2009 and Orion v9.5 sp3...

It looks like you need to stop services on the polling systems in order to move nodes from one to another, is this true?

Also, it would be very cool if I could move nodes from one poller to another via the managing nodes section of the web interface without shutting down services.
