import nodes via seedfile in Orion 9.5 SP1

Is there a way to import nodes via seedfile in Orion 9.5SP1? Network Sonar discovers our Netscreen devices but doesn't allow me to import them.

I've used the seedfile process in the past and it worked flawlessly. I know that the auto discovery process is intended to replace the seedfiles, but it isn't working for me at this point.

I can add the nodes one at a time without a problem, but with 450 of these that process becomes tedious very quickly.

For now, the old discovery .exe still remains and you should be able to use that to import the seed file till we fix this issue. You just have to navigate to it on the file system.

Say..... when exactly do you plan to fix this issue? Its been around a long time.. and its not on the "things we are working on list".. =-)

Im currently adding 200 nodes one by one.. (joy) oh yes and then i will go and edit the custom node properties. This should really be a simple process, import a list of devices and dynamically assign the imported nodes custom properties.

This brings up a different sore spot.. sorry.. but when exactly will you give me the privilege of adding a dynamic node that is not currently active. Why is this limitation even in place?

On the current version you can give Orion list of systems that will then all be discovered and it works fine, does this not work for you?

Also, what do you mean by "dynamically assign custom properties"? You can bulk edit custom properties if that helps.

Wow no kidding! Its possible to import a list of nodes and have them defined as dynamic addresses? (Effectively importing a bunch of host names) Thats a new one on me. How is that done?

As for the dynamically assigning custom properties i was basicly suggesting if you were able to import a list of nodes you should also be able to select the custom properties to be applied to all the nodes being imported as apposed to having to have an added step of going into the custom property editor, hunting them down and editing them.
