Groups: Alert ONLY when the parent node goes down?

Been fooling around with the dependencies and have a question regarding the groups added in 10.1.

Right now i have them setup for our offsite locations. 
Primary node = router
Child nodes = Dynamic query for access points behind the router.

I keep getting notifications when a child node goes offline, i get nofied for every device in the group. For example:

This is what i have in my alerts:

Group Marathon Campus is down because DLink.WAP.Marathon-01-147 is down, DLink.WAP.Marathon-01-140 is down

and then i get nofications for the following via email:
**OFFLINE** :: DLink.WAP.Marathon-01-140 (192.168.70.43) is Down
**OFFLINE** :: Switch.Marathon-01-XXX-#1 (192.168.70.3) is Down
**OFFLINE** :: DLink.WAP.Marathon-01-147 (192.168.70.42) is Down

 

Do i need to change my alerts someway so dependencies don't take down all attached devices?

How is your alert setup?  If you just use the generic alert me when node is down then you should be fine.

When the parent goes down, are the children showing up in the UI as unreachable?
