I have made a new left navigation tab that I use when looking at nods.
is there a way of having this new tab be the first to open when I click on a node?
I tried moving it to the top but it still opened summary first.
Ok, what you need to do is change your 'user account' settings. By default, your default node view is set thus:
If you change it to point to the 'Heart Beat' tab of you new view like this:
(in my example my custom tab I want to see first is the 'events' tab)
You will see that tab first when you go to your nodes:
Hey mnewton. Best thing to do here is to create a brand new Node Summary view, and set that as the one that is used for your user. That way you'll have the same view for all nodes (besides those which have specific ones, such as wireless access points etc).
the first to open has to be named summary?
that is how it works?
No, you can name your tabs as you see fit
See the example below:
Whatever you call your tab. will be the title of the page when viewed. Remember though, you have to click the 'Update' button to the right when you've typed your required name for the change to stick!
I want Heart beat to be the first navigation open. I am lost on what I need to do. I am wanting to keep the other because they have uses to.
I have tried moving it to the top but summary still opens first.
What am I missing?
I see the same behaviour with 11.5.3.
I did find a way around this issue by using "Views by device type". If you set the specific tab as the view for your device type, it will be the one that loads by default.
