Wireless Client Alerts

I want to set alerts for certain VIP wireless devices (based on mac address).

I also want to set alerts based on wireless clients whose usage is high, maybe above 100GB up and down.

Which category can i access wireless client data for alerts? if its custom sql, where is that data stored?

Hi george29,

I think you are looking for dbo.NPM_NV_WL_CLIENTS table and Client_MAC resp. one of the Client_Total... columns. This applies for NPM in version 10.4.1.

I see the table available. I am currently running 10.3.1. However I don't see how i can alert on.

I see 2 'Property to Monitor' that are in a similar category (wireless controller & wireless access point) but neither provide me what i'm looking for.

If i go to Custom Sql Alert Property, i have the same items for 'Setup your Trigger Query'.

The MAC address alerting question is a UDT feature.

alerts need an alertable object to be raised, and unfortunately the wireless client traffic is associated with a controller, so you can only trigger the one alert (at a time) on the controller for a client consuming lots of traffic.
