how to monitor Alcatel OS6350 Switch hardware in NPM

we want to monitor Alcatel OS6350 Switch paramters like power supply fan speed ,CPU & memory. Does NPM has it out of box ?

No NPM does not do that with Alcatel.

You need to make UNDP to OIDs that switch use for power supply fan ..

Hi Sja,

Since the environment is restricted i cannot send u the snmp walk details

however, if i search in the walk result by power i got the OID but could not get for Memory & CPU.

i was able to get OID for Power Supply for the swtich

i also added it using UNDP. How can i show a view on Orion console showing the status of Power Supply for the alcatel nodes

Edit the UNDP on the server

Make sure it keep history and display in the web (in place you like node Summary I use Node Hardware TAB to that )

Make sure to test the UNDP on 1/2 node nice if you have a switch that has bad PSU

Yes should be the same

But "Device Studio" is better for Memory & CPU because it use the native Solarwinds GUI

I recall trying to do this for an Alcatel switch and not getting far because the SolarWinds GUI poller wanted Free Memory and Used Memory OID sources in bytes but I could only find Used Memory as a percentage. The GUI wouldn't let me create a poller with a memory percentage OID unless I am missing something? Ended up using UnDP instead.

You will need to use the Universal Device Poller (UnDP) tool on the SolarWinds server.

Monitor custom statistics based on OIDs with Universal Device Pollers

Create the 3 pollers and assign them to your Alcatel switches.

Is it possible to add it to the next release? It would be great to check hardware monitoring under list resources to monitor the hardware. Thanks
