Some guidance please, would like to know if its possible within network atlas when creating an manual link and assigning the relevant interface to the link, can the link change color to reflect the utilization of the link
Doubtful... if the "Connect Now" feature can not make the connection then Network Atlas probably wont have the information necessary to show link utilization...
makes sense, but from the manual link and the relevant interface you assign to to the manual link. that interface reflects color based on utilization if you view from the orion console....hopefully something they can work for future release as in most instances you will have an ce router which the client can access via snmp and a pe router which the provider wont let you view via snmp and then you will have create the link manually
For some unknown reason they decided to link interface status and topology data for Network Atlas. So, like rjg5050 stated, if "Connect Now" won't connect both ends of an interface, Network Atlas will not show Utilization metrics. I don't understand why they don't just have the line change color based on the utilization of the interface(s) assigned to the link? How topology and interface utilization have anything in common when it comes to link status is totally beyond me and I'd really like to understand the thought process when that was being designed...
hi kevin
its "well know problem "

Have you also noticed that you can't change the line weight on the metric links? That's annoying, especially when you need to hover/click on the line to see it.
Also, the 'connect now' feature doesn't seem to be working between my Cisco ASRs and Juniper MX-960s even though I have L2 & L3 topology elements enabled on both.
Real let down. Thought I would be able to create a map of my core network and be able to show dynamic link usage. Pipe dreams I guess.
You right, just checked it out myself an default weight applies when viewing the the map with metrics selected
nope. It uses Topology OIDs for Orion to show that utilization.
