How can I create a report that lists nodes that do not have a specific application installed?

Hello, I quickly browsed the site and didn't find what I'm after, so....

I'm trying to create a report that lists all Windows servers that do not have any of the HP Insight Management applications installed. I've managed to create a report that shows me all of the servers that have the software installed, but it would be much more useful to see the ones that do not have it installed, as then this would be a punch list of servers to be corrected.

I would change the condition from contains to Does Not Contain and then add a condition for Vendor is equal to Windows. This should list out all your Windows servers without the application installed at least as far as SolarWinds knows.

mharvey, that was my first attempt, and while yes, it does work, the problem is that then I get every piece of software that is installed on those nodes that do not have the HP insight... which is a pain.... I want it to just simply return a list of node names that do not have the HP insights installed. I've tried removing the fields in the table, but then I just get a table with a ton of blank rows between node names.

If you are using the custom table option in the report, then just make sure the columns selected are just the node name, ip, and Machine Type. Remove any information you don't want out of the table by removing the column.

That works, kinda. I get the systems that do not have the app installed, however I get a row for each server supplicated many times... I'm assuming it's adding an entry for each piece of software that is installed on that particular server. Do you know of any way that I can get just a single row for each server, without blank rows, or duplicates?

On the Group results by, drop that down and choose NodeName That should allow for one entry rather than multiple. Group by.PNG
