Unmanaged Server Still Sends Out Services Down Alerts

I have unmanaged some servers through the 'manage nodes' area, because we are doing maintenance on this server. This includes having services stopped and restarted. I still receive alerts that the services are down even though I have put the server as unmanaged. Is this normal? What does Unmanaged actually do if it doesn't stop alerts from going out when we are doing maintenance on a server?

When the node becomes unmanaged, all assigned applications to the node should also become unmanaged. Unmanaged is a dedicated state that is designed to suppress alerts and not impact availability reporting. However, depending on how your alert is written you can still receive alerts in an UnManaged state. What version of SAM/APM are you currently running? Also, can you post a screenshot of the Trigger Condition for the alert that is notifying you of issues when the node is in an unmanaged state?

We are replacing our old monitoring service with Orion, and as it turns out the alert was from the old service. We use the same smtp email address and relay server so it wasn't immediately obvious it was from the old service. We are transitioning multiple servers per day to Orion.
