Report Filter Error

I am attempting to construct a report that pulls all servers performing a certain function. This information is contained in a custom server description field. When I select the report filter and attempt to:

Select records where [any] of the following apply:

Records where [custom_property] contains [word defining function]

When I select my custom property I loose the ability to select [contains] and when entering text in the final field I get the error "Invalid Filter" "Invalid Data format".

Any idea where I am going wrong?

Hey mate,

Just wanted to check , what data format is your custom property Function set to.

I notice that if it is set for numeric (int or float) input it will remove the contains option.

If it is not set to this is it set to Text or Memo?

This is a good question, I am not sure how to find that information, and I don't see that in the usual help locations. The field contains a sentence or two in plain text.
