Universal poller for Juniper SA6000 CPU util

Question

Hi

I am currently trying to poll (using a custom poller) The Cpu Utilisation on a Juniper SA6000 box with little or no success. I have a custom poller monitoring the CPU Util on a Juniper SA 4000 which is accurate. When I downloaded the mib database from the SA6000 I found that the OID for CPU util is the same as the one on the SA4500.

however when I poll it I find that it returns a value of 100 all the time which is incorrect. Are there a number of pollers I need to combine in order to get a correct value for this stat? I have had to do this on some F5 switches, has anyone experienced this with the Juniper S600 before?

the OID we're using on the SA4000 for CPU utilisation is

The CPU Utilization of the IVE system

JUNIPiveCpuUtil

1.3.6.1.4.1.12532.10

This OID should work on the SA6000 also but it doesn't return the correct value. We contacted Juniper about this, they seemed to be aware of this issue but didn't offer us any solution or work around. I have added the only copy of the Juniper MIB file I could find. It's under 'my files' on my page. Hope it's some use to you.

Hi, Ciag.  I have been searching for the OID for cpu utilization for the SA 4000.  Can you provide the OID you are using?  Also, do you have the appropriate OID for memory utilization?
