Am I correct in understanding that the versions of Orion and the modules that is installed on a hot standby or an additional poller are different from the version installed on the PRIMARY poller?
I need to add another question to the above please.
The Orion admin guide says that custom properties will need to be copied to an additional poller in order to be available if the original poller fails. Does that apply to things like alerts, maps, reports and custom pollers? Do all of thoese things have to be copied or exported (alerts) to the additional poller?
Thanks for the help.
bump?

Does that apply to things like alerts, maps, reports and custom pollers? NO. But it is advisable to backup its folder (maps and reports folder).Alerts are propagate accross all polling engine and it's primary server
Do all of thoese things have to be copied or exported (alerts) to the additional poller?NO it's not necessary to copy them on the additional poller. You can copy the whole folder on any server you want for backup purposes and when you want to migrate the application.
HotStandby engines are use for fail over purposes, meaning when either the primary server or any polling engines fails, the hotstandby will perform the task of the fail server.
